American seafood wholesaler Newport International has hired Ernesto Tagle, formerly of Contessa Premium Foods, as its director of sales – foodservice.
Tagle has worked for 14 years in the industry. Along with Contessa, Tagle has also worked for Choice Canning Co., known under the brand Tastee Choice.
Newport produces crab, shrimp and other seafood products under the brand names Jack’s Catch and Pacific Cove. Tagle will work out of Newport’s headquarters in St. Petersburg, Fla. starting on 8 June.
