Fast-casual seafood restaurant chain Captain D’s has signed franchise agreements to open 14 new restaurants since December, expanding its presence in the southeastern United States.
Among the additions will be four new locations in Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, Tenn.; and Abingdon, Va. Others will appear in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Kentucky.
The brand, based in Nashville, Tenn., signed agreements to open more 35 new restaurants last year, opened its first new corporate location in a decade, and generated half a billion U.S. dollars in system-wide sales.
"The tremendous growth and accomplishments our brand has achieved over the past year is resonating with prospective franchisees," said Michael Arrowsmith, Captain D's chief development officer. “Last year brought record-breaking AUV growth, our fourth consecutive year of same-store sales growth and, to top it off, Captain D's restaurants across the country achieved phenomenal sales results, catapulting us to the half a billion in system-wide sales mark. We look forward to continuing this success as we enter the second quarter, and are eager to bring new qualified franchisees into the D's family."
There are 513 Captain D's restaurants in 26 states, with new restaurants averaging USD 1.6 million (EUR 1.48 million) in sales.
