Foodservice chain Captain D’s has announced a new menu item, Nashville Hot Fish, set to be available in over 60 restaurants across Tennessee, Florida and Minnesota for a limited time.
Customers in Nashville, Jacksonville and St. Louis will be able to purchase the new item from 19 October through to the end of 2015. The novel menu item includes the restaurant’s Southern-Style White Fish paired with a special blend of hot spices. A fillet of the Nashville Hot Fish will be part of the USD 4.99 Full Meal Deal and come with pickles, two sides and two hush puppies.
"As a Nashville-based brand, it made sense for us to create a Nashville Hot Fish dish after the iconic Nashville Hot Chicken," said Jason Henderson, head chef and vice president of product innovation at D's. "We've been developing this recipe for quite some time and are so excited for its long awaited debut."
"Captain D's has been a seafood leader and innovator for the past 46 years, and as such, it was time for us to give back to our Nashville Heritage and create a new recipe that reflects one of Nashville's most famous food items," added Jonathan Muhtar, chief marketing officer at Captain D's. "We are confident that our guests will love our twist on this famous spicy dish."
Captain D’s has also launched the latest installment in its commercial campaign “For the Love of D's” to coincide with the rollout of the Nashville Hot Fish: "Our new commercial is a light-hearted nod to how much our fan's love Captain D's," said Muhtar. "And our new Nashville Hot Fish will just be one more thing having them say, 'It's gotta be D's!"
The fast-casual seafood chain operates 512 restaurants across 23 states, and just recently updated its design in Nashville to reflect a vibrant coastal atmosphere. Moreover, the chain upgraded its dining experience with new plate ware and silverware.
