Captain D’s signs multi-unit franchise deals

U.S.-based quick service seafood chain Captain D’s landed two new multi-unit franchisees that will add units in Atlanta, Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida. In addition, existing Captain D’s franchisees continue to add to their D’s restaurant portfolios.

Mike Munshi, an award-winning Dairy Queen franchisee who owns seven locations in Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama, has agreed to build three restaurants in the Atlanta market. Munshi’s team will focus development in the McDonough, Jackson and Peachtree City areas.

Captain D’s also signed David and Jamie Yates to a multi-unit deal. Over the next three years, the Yates plan to add two Captain D’s restaurants in Tallahassee.

In addition to adding new franchisees, existing Captain D’s franchisees are adding to their portfolios. Dallas Hunt signed a deal to add a second Captain D’s in Albany, Georgia. Hunt is a successful franchisee who currently owns five Captain D’s locations.

“We have had a renewed focus on franchise growth and set our sights on high profile franchisees who are interested in building successful restaurants,” Phil Greifeld, Captain D’s CEO and president. “Our menu innovation, store redesign and operational successes have made Captain D’s a highly profitable investment, and franchisees want to be a part of that.”

Earlier in the year, Captain D’s signed Michael Knobelock, one of the largest Church’s Chicken franchisees, who agreed to purchase two corporate-owned locations in Mississippi and build new locations in Houston, Texas.

“Captain D’s has broken sales records for three consecutive years. As a result, we are attracting top-quality franchisees,” Greifeld said. “Our momentum continues to build, and there is no sign of it slowing down.”
