Captain D’s adds restaurants in US Southeast

Captain D’s plans to open 20 locations in five states over the next seven years, including several locations in Texas.

The 516-unit fast casual seafood restaurant chain is partnering with American Development Partners (ADP) to aid franchisees by acquiring land and overseeing construction.

“Over the past several years, Captain D’s has experienced a surge in franchise development fueled by the company’s ongoing success, with 2016 marking its sixth consecutive year of same-store sales increases and fourth successive year of record high system-wide AUV,” the company said in a statement.

While Captain D’s has not set an exact timeline, a spokesperson for the restaurant chain told SeafoodSource that it would open five restaurants in Kentucky, two in South Carolina and one in North Carolina.

Captain D’s franchisee Shawn Eby will be working with ADP to open the new locations. Eby, CEO of Goalz Restaurant Group, has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry.

Meanwhile, Captain D’s said it recently opened a new franchised location in Dallas, Texas, making the new restaurant its thirteenth location.

The restaurant chain will also open two additional locations this summer in Houston, Texas, and Garland, Texas.

Franchisee International Restaurant Group plans to develop two additional stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.
