Clearwater rolls out bacon-wrapped scallops

Clearwater Seafoods on Tuesday rolled out a new bacon-wrapped scallop product in North America.

The scallops, which are Marine Stewardship Council-certified Canadian sea scallops wrapped in smoked bacon, are available to both the retail and foodservice markets. The product is processed at Clearwater’s Lockeport, Nova Scotia, facility.

The rollout is part of the Canadian company’s strategy to expand its value-added seafood offerings.

“The rollout of bacon-wrapped scallops is consistent with Clearwater’s strategy to strengthen our competitive and differentiated value proposition through targeting profitable and growing markets, channels and customers as well as innovating and positioning our products to deliver superior customer satisfaction and value,” said Greg Morency, the company’s CCO.
