Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.-based Fishpeople Seafood has announced plans to release two new product lines this fall: Wild Alaskan Salmon Jerky and “Ready, Set, Salmon!”
Both products are produced with wild Alaskan salmon and follow Fishpeople’s philosophy of full traceability, with each product outfitted with a code to trace the origins of the fish inside. Both products, when released, will be available on Amazon.
“Ready, Set, Salmon!” is a new ready-to-eat product that comes pre-cooked and pre-seasoned. Coming in three flavors – “Rainbow Peppercorn,” “Slow-Roasted Original,” and “Lemon Zest + Herb” – the product consists of flavored salmon slices that are ready to be thrown into another dish or eaten on their own.
“Our brand is passionate about making sustainable seafood simple, and that’s exactly what we’ve done with our new Ready, Set, Salmon!” said Ken Plasse, CEO of Fishpeople. “In our pre-launch testing, consumers absolutely loved this product because it finally makes cooking with wild salmon as easy as cooking with other pre-cooked proteins.”
The 4-ounce packages contain two servings of salmon, each with 15 grams of protein.
“These oven-roasted wild Alaskan salmon slices are fully-cooked and expertly seasoned; they are the perfect complement to your favorite salad, wrap, pasta or bowl with no cooking required,” Plasse said.
Fishpeople’s salmon jerky also comes ready to eat and pre-seasoned in a variety of flavors. In addition to the rainbow peppercorn, the jerky comes in “Lemon Zest + Herb,” which features lemon and thyme; “Sweet Smoky Original,” which contains a hint of Pacific Northewest alderwood smoke; and “Ancho Chili Lime,” flavored with ancho chilies, a twist of lime, and a blend of spices.
The new salmon jerky will be available in September 2018, while “Ready, Set, Salmon!” is slated for an October release.
