King & Prince gets BRC nod

American seafood company King & Prince Seafood has announced it has received global food safety certification from the British Retail Consortium (BRC).

The BRC gave the company’s Bellingham, Wash. facility an “A” grade, according to King & Prince. This is the first year the facility has applied for certification.

“We are committed to deliver the highest quality products to our customers, and are pleased our dedication to adhere to best practices and quality standards has been recognized with this certification in Bellingham,” said Tracy McConnell, VP of technical services for King & Prince.

BRC audits are based on a variety of standards for management, food safety, quality management, site standards and other categories.
