Major UK grocer delists Saucy Fish products from stores

British retailer Tesco is delisting products from The Saucy Fish Co., according to a statement from Saucy Fish.

A spokesman for the company said Saucy Fish and Tesco were “consciously uncoupling” after being on shelves in Tesco for the past five years. No explanation has been given for the change.

The Saucy Fish statement said its products were still available, however, in a number of U.K. supermarket chains including The Cooperative, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Budgens and Booths. The company also maintained that its products are still available in its overseas markets, including Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States.

“The Saucy Fish Co. has also been seen flirting with ecommerce and plans to launch its own online store later in the year,” the company said in its statement.

A statement from Tesco was not available.
