McCormick & Schmick's goes to the movies

McCormick & Schmick's on Thursday announced its latest promotion and menu items.

The seafood chain's "Reel to Reel" promotion - short for fishing reel to movie reel - celebrates the summer movie season by offering guests who purchase any dinner entrée the chance to add a movie ticket for USD 5 (EUR 3.52).

In addition, one customer will have the opportunity to win a trip to the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. McCormick & Schmick's Reel to Reel Sweepstakes prize includes airfare and hotel for two and VIP passes to the festival. Customers can enter to win at any McCormick & Schmick's location or at its Web site.

"Budget-conscious diners shouldn't have to choose between dinner or a movie when we make it affordable to enjoy both," said McCormick & Schmick's CEO Bill Freeman. "A USD 5 (EUR 3.52) movie ticket is a fantastic value and enables our guests to enjoy a real dinner as part of a fun night out."

The promotion will run through the end of September.

The Portland, Ore.–based company also debuted new summer menu items, including lobster ravioli, steamed Maine lobster, filet mignon and Salmon Oscar. The summer menu also features blueberry shortcake, and McCormick & Schmick's will make a donation to the American Heart Association for every one sold.
