Orlando, Florida, U.S.A.-based restaurant chain Red Lobster, which operates more than 500 locations around the globe, is continuing to implement turnaround efforts to grow its revenue post-bankruptcy.

As the summer rolls along, its newest efforts include promoting its seasonal Crabfest deal and launching a new catering service.

For the first time ever, the chain’s summer Crabfest deal is featuring a seafood boil. The Mariner’s Boil includes a Maine lobster tail, a dozen shrimp, snow crab legs, corn, and red potatoes, while the new Sailor's Boil features shrimp, smoked sausage, corn, and red potatoes.

Each boil can be finished with a choice of flavors such as Roasted Garlic Butter, Cajun Butter, or OLD BAY seasoning. Other new dishes include Crabby Stuffed Mushrooms, Crab-Topped Asparagus, Salmon Oscar, Crab-Topped Potato, and Steak Oscar.

Additionally, Red Lobster’s Crab Your Way offering offers 1 pound of crab legs prepared over crispy potatoes. Diners can choose between Snow Crab or Bairdi Crab – which entails a USD 9.00 (EUR 7.70) upcharge – and then choose their flavor between Simply Steamed, Roasted Garlic Butter, Cajun Butter, or a new OLD BAY and Parmesan flavoring.

Red Lobster is also partnering with restaurant technology provider Olo to launch a first-party catering service by the end of 2025.

”We're incredibly excited to launch first-party catering for the first time in Red Lobster's history," Red Lobster Chief Marketing Officer Nichole Robillard said. "Catering+ will open entirely new revenue opportunities while Sentiment [Olo’s reputation management platform] gives us powerful insights to enhance our guest experience across all locations.”

Meanwhile, several other restaurant chains are rolling out summer seafood specials.

For example, Long John Silver’s is featuring a USD 6.00 (EUR 5.12) fish basket, which includes two pieces of hand-battered Alaska pollock served with a choice of side and two hushpuppies for a limited time.

“We’re proud to offer a dine-in quality seafood experience at a fast-food price,” Long John Silver’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Christopher Caudill said in a press release. “We designed the Fish Basket promotion with today’s guest in mind, balancing inflation-friendly pricing and quality ingredients to provide great value.”

Fat Brands-operated Hurricane Grill & Wings added a Beer-Battered Fish Sandwich to its summer menu. The Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.-based chain operates nearly 50 restaurants nationwide.

Elsewhere, Tampa, Florida, U.S.A.-based Bonefish Grill is touting new summer dishes including Coconut Shrimp and Cilantro Lime Salmon.
