The deadline to apply for the Seafood Prix d’Elite new product competition at the 18th annual European Seafood Exposition in Brussels, Belgium, is 15 February.
Seafood Prix d’Elite is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
Last year’s Seafood Prix d’Elite winners, picked from a field of 36 finalists from four continents, were Deutsche See GmbH of Bremerhaven, Germany, and Alfocan S.A. of Seville, Spain. Deutsche See captured the best new retail product for its Seasonal Fresh Fish Convenience-Salmon in a Wooden Leaf, while Alfocan earned the best new foodservice product for its Crayfish Skewers.
In addition to the two grand prizes, five special awards will be presented for seafood product line, convenience, packaging, originality and health and nutrition.
The winners will be announced during a reception and awards ceremony at the Parc des Expositions in Brussels on 27 April.
