Due to partnerships with specialty seafood purveyors Ports Seafood and Central Coast Seafood Skuna Bay salmon is now available to all restaurants in California with its expansion north of Santa Barbara to the Bay area, Napa Valley and beyond. Ports will serve chefs in the San Francisco Bay area and Central Coast chefs on the Central coast.
“California will always have a special place in our hearts as the region where Skuna Bay was first introduced. Chefs and food lovers in Southern California have really appreciated our fish and we realized it was time to let all Californians have access to our Craft Raised Salmon,” said Stewart Hawthorn, Skuna Bay head farmer. “Since the chefs of Northern California are known for using only the very best ingredients, we think they will appreciate the attention to detail we put into getting them great 10-pound salmon year-round.”
The craft-raised salmon is also available to high-end restaurants in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. The deal brings the number of states where Skuna Bay salmon is available to 19. Skuna Bay salmon’s exclusive distribution partners throughout the United States include Santa Monica Seafood, Fortune Fish, Seattle Fish Co., Euclid Fish Co. and Gotham Seafood Corp.
The company also has multiple farms that have earned the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s Best Aquaculture Practices certification. Skuna Bay also has a partnership with Aquarium of the Pacific’s Seafood for the Future program.
