Devi Seafoods, Arista Industries and High Liner Foods are among the seafood suppliers that Sysco Corp. honored on Monday as part of its 2012 Sysco Supplier Excellence Awards program.
Sysco awarded a total of seven seafood companies. Devi Seafoods of Perth Amboy, N.J., was recognized as a gold supplier, while Arista Industries of Wilton, Conn., was honored as a silver supplier. Designated as bronze suppliers were High Liner Foods of Nova Scotia, Seattle-based Trident Seafoods Corp., Great American Seafood of Los Angeles, Northern Wind of New Bedford, Mass., and Baltimore-based Phillips Foods. Devi, Arista, Trident, Northern Wind and Phillips were also recognized last year.
Previously called the Top 100 Supplier Recognition, Sysco changed the name of its program last year to recognize suppliers by category and by areas of accomplishment. This marks the 18th year that the company has recognized leading suppliers.
The awards were presented at an industry dinner in Houston, where Sysco is headquartered. The company operates 177 distribution facilities nationwide and had record sales of more than USD 39 billion in fiscal 2011.
