Santa Ana, California, U.S.A.-based The Wagyu Shop, an online gourmet food retailer, has expanded into seafood.

Founded in 2018 as an e-commerce venue specializing in rare Japanese beef, the company branched into seafood in 2022.

"Our seafood collection contains many different kinds of luxury offerings," The Wagyu Shop Client Relations Manager Tiffany Aguilar said in a press release. "From rich caviar to wild-caught tuna, our selection offers a variety of options."

Aguilar said the company hopes to attract buyers who are “interested in preparing a tasty home-cooked meal or surprising guests with freshly-caught finds.”

The company also just opened a new processing facility for both meat and seafood.

"We hope that the new facility will allow us to have complete control over the quality of our products," Aguilar said. “We hope that the new seafood line will serve customers in a new niche and that the facility will help us to customize our products even better to meet the needs of our clientele."

The Wagyu shop currently offers two eight-ounce, Marine Stewardship Council- and Fair Trade-certified yellowfin tuna steaks for USD 59 (EUR 55), a one-pound yellowfin tuna saku block for USD 69 (EUR 64), one pound of yellowfin tuna poke cubes for USD 49 (EUR 45), two eight-ounce Chilean sea bass fillets for USD 89 (EUR 83), two six-ounce Ora King Salmon fillets for UDS 49 (EUR 45), and various caviar products.

The Wagyu Shop is aiming for a premium online food-shopping experience, centered on a personalized approach to customer service and delivery, Aguilar said.

"Over the years, we've studied the craft, met the farmers, and even visited the plants before our product is exported to the United States," she said. “When it comes to providing for its clients, The Wagyu Shop takes seriously several factors that are often absent with online purveyors – quality and customer service. The Wagyu Shop researches and sources steaks that can only be found in high-end restaurants. The company services clientele that are commonly found hosting, as these clients desire the most luxury items that can be found. And something else that the shop does is add a personal touch to every order."
