There’s mixed news for the seafood industry coming from the foodservice sector.

The bad news is there’s not a lot of growth in seafood dishes overall on United States restaurant menus, according to food industry market research firm Datassential’s Seafood Keynote report. The report is based on Datassential’s Menu Trends survey of 1,001 consumers, and is designed to provide insight into the trends that will affect the foodservice marketplace in 2018.

The good news is there are plenty of bright spots for seafood within the foodservice sector. For example, seafood is becoming increasingly popular in breakfast and brunch dishes. And customers appear increasingly willing to try new and different types of seafood.
