4. Kid cuisine
Foods for kids – including seafood options – will be more adventurous, Whole Foods predicts.
Already, food manufacturers are “bridging the gap from old-school basic kids’ menus and taking more sophisticated younger palates into consideration. Think non-breaded salmon fish sticks. Foods that are fermented, spiced or rich in umami flavors. Colorful pastas in fun shapes made from alternative flours,” Whole Foods said.
An example of a kid-friendly seafood product is Washington, D.C., U.S.A.-based Blue Circle's Happy Fish, featuring fish-shaped frozen salmon and cod patties, The products are sold in Whole Foods stores and on Blue Circle’s website, as well as through several other vendors.
