5. Snacking fresh

The popularity of fresh snacks is on the rise. The refrigerated section of most grocery stores now features hard-boiled eggs with savory toppings, pickled vegetables, drinkable soups, nutrition bars, and other items, Whole Foods said.

Seafood suppliers such as Trans-Ocean have launched grab-and-go refrigerated seafood snacks, and more are expected to launch in 2020. Earlier this year, Trans-Ocean rolled out its Simply Surimi Seafood Snackers – three-ounce packs of high protein surimi made from Alaska pollock.
