Tristan International unveils tuna product

American frozen tuna processor Tristan International is offering a new professionally-thawed tuna that builds on the company’s Super Frozen tuna line.

The company, based in Florida, has been offering its ULT Frozen Tuna since 2002. Now, the company is using a new proprietary process to defrost the tuna. The company said the new product has the same quality and taste of fresh tuna, but with the control and safety of frozen products.

“We ensure total sashimi quality, natural color and fresh taste through our ULT system,” said Gabriella Perotti, Tristan’s president. “Our ULT FreshTM tuna product is just another example of how Tristan solves problems for operators without compromising product integrity.”

The company is marketing the new product to its foodservice and retail customers. The announcement follows a recent announcement by another company that it was producing a similar super-frozen tuna product.
