For the first time since 2003, Captain D’s saw positive system wide same-store sales growth, the Nashville, Tenn.-based company announced on Wednesday.
In addition, the fast-casual seafood chain produced strong earnings growth.
Under CEO Phil Greigfeld’s leadership, the brand has strategically invested in corporate and field talent, improving core products, upgrading restaurant equipment as well as a re-engineered operating line and a new décor with the restaurants.
In mid-December, the company acquired Grandy’s Country Cookin’, a 65-restaurant homestyle and comfort food chain based in Dallas.
“To be same-store sales positive for the first time in eight years is a testament to our heighten level of execution and our focus on improving our guest satisfaction,” said Phil Greifeld, CEO of Captain D’s. “Our positive sales momentum is building and we look forward to a terrific 2012 for the D’s brand.”
