Vital Choice Wild Seafood & Organics of Bellingham, Wash., has acquired the assets of I Love Blue Sea, an online seafood purveyor based in California.
The move gives I Love Blue Sea’s thousands of customers a broader selection of top-quality sustainable seafood, backed by Vital Choice’s strong commitment to customer service, the company stated on Tuesday.
I Love Blue Sea was founded four years ago by Martin Reed, who was featured in the June 2010 edition of SeaFood Business as an entrepreneur with a “deeply personal, unique or even daring definition of sustainable seafood.”
“We have been big fans of Martin and I Love Blue Sea, and are honored to be able to carry forward their important mission,” said Randy Hartnell, founder and president of Vital Choice, founded in 2002.
In addition to a wider range of sustainable and organic products, customers new to Vital Choice will enjoy 24-hour customer service and the ability to have their orders bundled into fewer shipments from a single location.
