AquaManager, Kılıç Deniz extend aquaculture tech partnership

Aquaculture management software brand AquaManager has confirmed the extension of its long-running partnership with Turkish fish-farming company Kılıç Deniz, with a view to fully digitalizing its production.

Using IoT technologies, mobile applications, and Azure cloud infrastructure, AquaManager said the additional solutions are designed to eliminate dated processes and provide a means to better control the business, optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and increase sustainability, and traceability.

In a press release, AquaManager said its autonomous hardware and IoT platform will allow Kılıç Deniz’s production team to control the water quality in its four main production locations, identify areas of concern, and quickly react to prevent major issues, with mobile applications supporting the decentralized data entry by production personnel.

The integrated solution provides the group’s production management team with real-time production information, allowing it to understand what is happening as it happens, AquaManager said. The real-time overview will ensure Kılıç Deniz and other aquaculture companies using its software are able to optimize their growth, reduce costs, and improve their efficiency in the expensive grow-out stage, with complete visibility provided to all internal and external parties.

“The success of the project was ensured by the excellent collaboration with the Kılıç Deniz team and the shared vision of both parties; A vision that has the digital farm and the intelligent biomass production at the center of any business strategy in the aquaculture sector,” AquaManager Founder Kostas Seferis said.

The new tools will integrate with the existing AquaManager software Kılıç Deniz Ürünleri has been using, Kılıç Deniz CEO Hakan Uyanık said.

“We are really excited to augment our partnership with the AquaManager team, with the addition of innovative technologies that are integral parts of our shift towards the full digitalization of our production,” Uyanık said. “Technologies that will allow us to enjoy not only real-time overview and insights but also provide the tools to enhance our sustainability and continue to grow the healthiest fish possible.”
