SalMar ramps up second-quarter salmon harvest

Norwegian salmon producer SalMar harvested 41,400 metric tons (MT) of gutted fish in the second-quarter of this year, an increase of around 21 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2018.

The contribution from the company’s farming operations in central Norway amounted to 24,600 MT, while its northern Norway sites provided 14,100 MT. Its Icelandic subsidiary provided 2,800 MT. 

SalMar’s full Q2 2019 results will be published on 23 August.

In the first-quarter of 2019, the company harvested 35,500 MT of salmon, up from 31,900 in Q1 2018. It has forecast a total harvest of 155,000 MT for the full year.
