Lars Erik Sjurseth named chief financial officer for Seafood People

Lars Erik Sjurseth, a former senior associate at accounting firm PwC, has joined seafood industry consultancy Seafood People as its chief financial officer manager of strategy and growth.

Seafood People is a specialty firm focusing on executive recruitment, strategy, analysis, project management, communication, and design for the seafood industry. The firm is headquartered in Bergen Norway, with advisors located in Chile, the U.K., the U.S., Germany, Singapore, and New Zealand.

Sjurseth “will bolster internal efficiencies and also provide financial advice and strategies to Seafood People’s clients,” according to Seafood People Managing Director Thomas Bakke.

“Lars is well-known for his integrity and business acumen. I have worked with Lars in the past and am thrilled to have him as a full-time colleague to contribute his knowledge and professionalism to our firm and stakeholders,” Bakke said.

Seafood People has significantly increased its roster of management consultants with the recent additions of Andreas Solibakke, Karoline Hammersland, and Volker Kuntzsch in March, and of Andrew Mallison and Alexander Kolibius in December 2020. The company hired Ole-Alexander Palm to head its global management consulting division in October 2020.

“The breadth of current and pipeline projects is really exciting. I see Seafood People not only as a leader in the industry but as an important partner for companies to navigate the fast-moving changes in this sector. I am proud to be part of this growing team,” Sjurseth said.
