North Atlantic Seafood Forum names new managing director

André Akse has been appointed the new managing director of North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF), taking over the position from Johan Kvalheim.

Aske, who will join the organization on 1 November, has considerable experience in the Norwegian seafood industry. As well as being director of France for the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), and serving with Hydro Seafood in Bergen in the 1990s, he has worked for Seagarden, Vikenco, Pan Fish Norway as plant manager at Eggesbøneset, and as general manager for Baader Norway.

Most recently, he has been involved in introducing Stora Enso’s EcoFishBox concept in Norway and France.

This year’s NASF was held in March in Bergen, Norway, just before the COVID-19 shutdown measures were introduced. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing pandemic, Aske will run a digital edition of the event, planned for 9 to 11 March, 2021.

Meanwhile, Kvalheim will join the NSC as Director of Japan and Korea on 1 December.
