Pacifico Aquaculture has announced the hiring of a new vice president of sales as a part of a “second round of team growth” for the year.
The company, in a press release, announced it has hired Guy Lott to the newly created position. The new hire joins that of Senior Sales Manager Chris Cumming, along with a new logistic manager, new sales managers, a brand ambassador, and more, all joining the in-house sales and logistics team the company created in May.
“The breadth of Guy’s industry network supports our vision for Pacifico True Striped Bass to be available more widely throughout the US and internationally,” Co-CEO Daniel Farag said in the release. “His leadership and partnership alongside our existing team will help Omar and me guide Pacifico into its future.”
Prior to his hiring by Pacifico, Lott was the vice president of sales for North America at Regal Springs Tilapia. Lott has also held a leadership position at Harvest Select, where he was a chef and restauranteur.
In his new position, Lott is reporting directoy to Farag and Co-CEO Omar Alfi, according to the release.
“Pacifico is at the forefront of the aquaculture movement,” Lott said. “It’s exciting for me to be on the front lines of a pioneering brand developing an emerging species. I’m drawn to the sustainability model and premium quality of the fish. My goal is to uphold the quality reputation of Pacifico True Striped Bass while supporting its growth and availability.”
The string of new hires, according to Pacifico, is in part thanks to an investment by Los Angeles, California-based private equity firm Butterfly, which took place at the end of 2017. That investment has also allowed the company to make “huge leaps in production,” according to Alfi.
“We now have nearly 4,000 tons of fish on the farm and continue to responsibly expand our operations with a new concession in the area,” Alfi said. “The addition of Guy to our growing sales team further reinforces our goal of becoming a world class aquaculture company rooted in responsible practices.”
