Pescanova USA hires Will Nagle as national sales director

Will Nagle has been hired by Miami, Florida, U.S.A.-based Pescanova USA as its national sales director.

Nagle comes to Pescanova USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Pontevedra, Spain-based Nueva Pescanova, from Slade Gorton, where he was director of national accounts. In that role, he led a key account team that managed client relationships Sysco, US Foods, Gordon Food Service, Performance Food Group, Darden, Bloomin' Brands, Red Lobster, and others.

Nagle previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for cobia-farming firm Open Blue and as director of national accounts for Ocean Choice International.

“This gave him experience with many of the sea species and products sold by Pescanova, including crab, lobster, scallops, flounder, and cod,” Pescanova USA said in a press release.

In his new role, Nagle will oversee national retail and foodservice accounts, as part of Nueva Pescanova Group’s continued growth strategy in North America, according to Pescanova USA CEO Chris Maze.

“Will is joining our team at a critical moment. As Pescanova USA continues to establish itself as a global vertically integrated seafood company in the U.S.A. that takes pride in being both environmentally and socially responsible, we are now launching new lines of innovative products that Will can confidently take to market,” Maze said.

The company sees the U.S. market as a strategic growth opportunity for it to leverage the supply chain benefits of Nueva Pescanova’s vertical integration, Maze said.

Nagle said he will look to leverage his experience in the food and beverage industry, with a focus on developing brand equity through successful marketing campaigns, to maximize Pescanova USA’s market position.

“I am delighted to join a company that always prioritizes customers because my philosophy is that the customer always comes first. I look forward to contributing with my years of experience in food industry sales to support the company in continuing to increase their leadership in the U.S.” Nagle said.
