Seafood legal expert Peter Quinter heading new trade team at Florida firm

West Palm Beach, Florida, U.S.A. -based law firm Gunster announced it has hired Peter Quinter to serve as the head of the firm’s new U.S. Customs and international trade team.

Quinter is a U.S. customs and international trade attorney with almost 30 years of experience, and a frequent speaker at seafood trade events. In March 2022, he moderated a talk on U.S. Food and Drug Administration and U.S. Customs’ seafood enforcement policies at the 2022 Seafood Expo North America in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

“Peter has an outstanding reputation across the country and around the world for his expertise in U.S. Customs and international trade matters, and we’re confident his wealth of knowledge and connections in that space will be a valuable asset to the clients we serve,” Gunster Managing Shareholder Bill Perry said in a release. “We look forward to seeing his highly specialized skills broaden our firm’s international capabilities and strengthen our diverse corporate law practice.”

Quinter previously was a U.S. Customs and international trade attorney at Florida-based GrayRobinson for 10 years, and has extensive experience helping clients with regulatory compliance and enforcement by multiple agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the U.S. Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

Quinter is also an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Florida Bar’s International Trade Law Section, the American Bar Association’s International Law Section, Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association, Inc., Transportation Lawyers Association, and the International Trademark Association.
