Charles “Chuck” Marble is no longer the CEO at Stavis Seafoods, according to a company spokesperson.
Marble had served as president of the Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-based seafood supplier since March 2017, and as CEO since January 2018.
The company recently launched its new SeaTru brand, with products slated to hit shelves this summer. Richard Stavis, the former CEO of the company who now serves as its chief sustainability officer, told SeafoodSource in an interview in May 2019 that Marble played a major role in the development and roll-out of SeaTru.
“Chuck Marble ... has good understanding of retail brands and connecting with the customer, and I think that he rightly recognized and pointed out that basically nobody’s really done, in our team, a great job of connecting [with the consumer first]," Stavis said. "People have sort of gone from an inside-out perspective, a this is what we’re doing and pushing everything outward perspective, but they haven’t really gone from the consumer back to profile a brand that really connected with the consumer base. He was the one who came to me and said, ‘I want to have this brand and I want this brand to reflect the consumer.’”
Prior to joining Stavis, Marble had more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, working for companies such as Elevation Brands, Weetabix Food Company and Triad Foods Group.
The company spokesperson declined to comment further on Marble’s departure or the company’s plans to replace him.
