National Lobster Day, celebrated in the United States on 25 September, provides a tasty excuse for Americans to eat more of the popular shellfish.
Several restaurant chains and independent restaurants are offering specials for the day. Here are the top three restaurants that are going all out for National Lobster Day:
Red Lobster: The massive restaurant chain is offering a 1.25-pound lobster meal for USD 19.99 (EUR 18.26) for today, 25 September, only. In conjunction with National Lobster Day, the chain is also unveiling a new Key Lime Pie recipe, since National Key Lime Pie Day is celebrated on 26 September.
- Luke’s Lobster: Starting on National Lobster Day through Luke’s Lobster’s 10th anniversary in October, the chain is selling a special lobster roll in each city. It is also donating USD 1 (EUR .91) from the sale of each roll to a charity of each chef's choice.
At its Boston locations, Luke’s Lobster partnered with chefs Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer on a sweet and spicy twist on the traditional Maine-style lobster roll with Louie sauce and Calabrian chili.
- Phillips Seafood & Steak’s: The restaurant’s Washington D.C. location is offering a lobster meal featuring lobster topped with melted butter served with steamed corn and red potatoes for USD 30 (EUR 27.40).
