Washington, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-based Western Edge Seafood has expanded its retail presence by opening a fourth retail location in its home state.
The importer and seafood supplier, which primarily supplies foodservice and retail businesses in the United States, set up its own retail operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting with a “mobile seafood outlet” – a truck selling frozen seafood direct to consumers – the company expanded into its first brick-and-mortar location in its hometown, which is just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Western Edge Outlet store opened in August 2021 and was such a success that Western Edge has since opened three additional retail locations – in Tylerdale, Greensburg, and Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
“We are open to the public, servicing the greater Pittsburgh area with restaurant quality seafood for you to make at home!” the company said in its online announcement.
The Canonsburg outlet store was opened in July 2022 by Western Edge General Manager Shawn Cessna and Western Edge Store Manager Alina George, according to The Observer–Reporter.
“We will have all of your seafood favorites, with over 50 varieties of restaurant quality seafood, sides, sauces, and more for you to make at home! We have a knowledgeable, friendly staff to answer all of your questions, and provide suggestions based on your preferences, recipes, cooking tips, and more to provide you the best seafood experience possible! We will also have Seafood Socials where you can come and try our products, and we'll have our food truck Johnny's Seafood Shack at our store for events,” the company said on its Facebook page. “We are looking forward to being a part of the Canonsburg community, and are excited to meet all of you!”
