Engage the community of shrimpers
Engagement is key if you want consumers to keep their loyalty to your product. For example, Acuamaya launched The Shrimp Club to encourage its customers to participate in its cooking workshops, forums, and discount offers in order to build a community-based audience. And in Russia, shrimp buyers can harvest their own shrimp from the farm after an educational tour by the farm owners. These engagement activities can be carried out not only through social media or your website but also through organizing marketing events and even attending trade shows to showcase new products or packaging.
A good way to engage consumers year-round is to plan an advertising calendar based on events.
“We can create seasonal programming around the campaign whether it’s a summer barbecue, a New Year, New You or Kids Like Shrimp campaign,” Jennifer Bushman, a seafood marketing specialist, said.
In marketing your product, the secret is to be bold, creative and educational. You want to reach your target audience, but gimmicks alone will not cut it. You’ll also have to make sure your audience is properly informed if you want to build a lasting connection and engagement with them.
