Norwegian salmon prices exploding, up 37 percent in one month

Norwegian salmon prices jumped 18.06 percent in the eighth week of 2023. Prices are up NOK 18.01 (USD 1.73, EUR 1.82) week-over-week, according to the Nasdaq Salmon Index.

The weighted average index of weekly sales prices and volumes of fresh Atlantic superior salmon, head-on gutted – reported by a panel of Norwegian salmon exporters and salmon producers – found the average per-kilogram price of Norwegian salmon NOK 117.82 (USD 11.35, EUR 10.63).

Prices increased 9.64 percent, or NOK 8.77 (USD 0.85, EUR 0.80), in the seventh week of 2023, with the average per-kilogram price of Norwegian salmon to be NOK 99.81 (USD 9.63, EUR 9.08).
