Norwegian salmon prices have increased by 6.41 percent over the fifth week of 2023. Prices are up NOK 5.52 (USD 0.53, EUR 0.50) week-over-week, according to the Nasdaq Salmon Index.
The weighted average index of weekly sales prices and volumes of fresh Atlantic superior salmon, head-on gutted, reported by a panel of Norwegian salmon exporters and salmon producers, found the average per-kilo price of Norwegian salmon to be NOK 91.54 (USD 8.88, EUR 8.28).
Fish Pool reported total sales volumes for Norwegian salmon exporters the first week of February 2023 was flat from the prior week, and down 1,247 tons, or 7 percent, compared to corresponding week in 2022.
The total volume of exports over the past five weeks has decreased by 9.7 percent over the same period in 2022.
