Trident Seafoods, Icicle Seafoods, and Ocean Beauty Seafoods landed a major United States government contract to supply canned pink salmon.
The three suppliers, all based in Seattle, Washington, will provide nearly 26,000 cases of wild salmon, worth USD 1.6 million (EUR 1.4 million), for child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs, the United States Department of Agriculture said in a notice.
Icicle landed the largest share of the contract, around USD 934,000 (EUR 839,000) worth of canned pink salmon, while Ocean Beauty will supply around USD 471,000 (EUR 423,000), and Trident will supply nearly USD 194,000 (EUR 174,000) worth of canned pink salmon.
They will deliver the salmon to numerous U.S. cities between March and June 2020.
