Alaska sablefish fishery RFM certification renewed

The Alaska sablefish (black cod) fishery has earned continued certification against the Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) conformance criteria, according to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. The assessment was completed last month.

The objective of the audit is to monitor any changes since the previous assessment in 2013. The fishery was originally certified on 11 October 2011, with annual audits completed on each year since.

Several Alaska fisheries have earned RFM certification, including salmon, halibut, sablefish, Alaska pollock, crab, cod and flatfish.
