Austevoll ups stake in Br. Birkeland

Norway’s Austevoll Seafood on Monday acquired 1.5 million shares in Br. Birkeland AS.

The acquisition cost NOK 95.7 million and brings Austevoll’s shareholdings in Br. Birkeland to more than 7.5 million.

Br. Birkeland owns and operates two modern purse seiners, each of which holds purse-seining and trawling licenses for blue whiting. In addition, the company, through a wholly owned subsidiary, owns and operates seven licenses for farming Atlantic salmon and trout.
