Bar Harbor Seafood sets sights on expansion

Bar Harbor Seafood on Tuesday announced that it’s expanding its existing 21,000-square-foot Orlando, Fla., facility by 18,000 square feet.

The addition, build by Orlando-based H.J. High Construction, will feature a zero-degree freezer, new 40-degree cold dock, vestibule, receiving office and two state-of-the-art large live lobster float tanks in a separate holding room. The project also includes four new dock pits/levelers with insulated doors.

Bar Harbor will remain operational during the entire course of construction, which is expected to be completed in six months.

“Bar Harbor Seafood is dedicated to delivering a full range of live, fresh and frozen seafood with a fleet of 28 trucks, and this new expansion will help us meet the growing needs of our customers,” said Jeff Hazell, Bar Harbor founder and president.
