China ebola scare boost for New Zealand salmon

New Zealand’s small export salmon trade could be boosted after a bizarre food-safety scare in China linking a fish disease to Ebola.

A Chinese ban on all imports of whole Norwegian salmon came into force on Wednesday after concerns around the presence of infectious salmon anaemia (ISA).

An infectious viral disease, ISA afflicts atlantic salmon, but so far does not affect New Zealand's farmed king salmon or chinook salmon.
