The Cook Islands has signed a three-year agreement with China allowing it to conduct exploratory fishing of bigeye tuna and swordfish.??
As part of the arrangement, 20 Chinese boats will be able to access fish in the Cook Islands exclusive economic zone.??
The Cook Islands will earn around USD 600,000 in fees in the first year of the agreement.
