Clearwater: Distrust destroying seafood industry

An industry heavyweight expects more fish plant closures in Newfoundland and Labrador, citing an aura of distrust permeating the province’s fishery and increased competition worldwide.

“Nobody trusts anybody,” John Risley, president of Clearwater Fine Foods, told CBC News.

“Everybody comes to the table, if you like, with a vested interest. And nobody thinks with a view of what might be good for all of us, as opposed to what's good for me.”
