Clearwater plants earn BRC certification

One of Canada’s largest seafood supplier on Thursday announced that two of its processing facilities have been certified under the British Retail Consortium (BRC) food-safety standard.

They are Pierce Fisheries, which specializes in processed lobster and individually quick frozen Canadian and Argentine scallops, and St. Anthony Seafoods, which specializes in cooked and peeled shrimp. Clearwater Seafoods said the certification exemplify the Nova Scotia company’s dedication to excellence in customer satisfaction.

“Globally recognized certifications such as BRC and MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) help us to ensure that our plants and practices are meeting the best possible standards and provide valuable third party recognition of our commitment to our customers,” said Caroline Davis, general manager of St. Anthony Seafoods.

St. Anthony Seafoods is located in Newfoundland, while Pierce Fisheries is situated in Nova Scotia.
