Confirmed: Ocean Choice not for sale

Ocean Choice International (OCI) representatives came forward on 23 February to squash rumors that the Canadian company has been put up for sale.

Majority owners Martin Sullivan and Blaine Sullivan confirmed that the prospect of selling OCI was not on the table, and they have faith that refinancing the business will be a successful venture.

"OCI has successful operations with positive financial results and we do not anticipate any problems refinancing OCI's debt facilities. It is business as usual at OCI," said Martin Sullivan.

The company believes most media reports speculating an OCI sale were prompted by a court case that was recently dismissed by the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador. "As indicated by Justice Orsborn's decision in our favor, there was absolutely no merit to that claim,” explained Sullivan.

"We intend to maintain our position as a leader in the fishing industry and, to that end, we will continue to deliver the highest quality products to our customers around the globe,” Sullivan concluded.
