Copeinca reports successful second fishing season

Copeinca announced completed its second fishing season on 7 January, 2014, successfully catching 100 percent of its quota.

The Peruvian fishmeal and fish oil producer processed 15.6 percent of the total allowable catch (TAC) of 2.304,000 metric tons (MT), out of which 10.7 percent came from its own catch and 4.9 percent from third party fishing companies.

Total production for the season was 80,817 MT of steam dried fishmeal and 11,569 MT of fish oil.

For the full 2013 fishing season, Copeinca processed 15.1 percent of the TAC of 4,354,000 MT, out of which 10.7 percent came from its own catch.

The company produced 152,000 MT of fishmeal, all of which was steam dried with a yield of 24.9 percent, and 26,066 MT of fish oil, which has a 3.7 percent yield.
