Vietnamese shrimp exporters subject to U.S. antidumping tariffs won't be issued duty rates for the third administrative review until at least March 2, 2009.

In the Federal Register late last week, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it's delaying the preliminary results of the review, citing the "extraordinarily complicated nature of the proceeding."

The review period extends from Feb. 1, 2007, to Jan. 31, 2008.

The tariffs stem from an antidumping petition the Southern Shrimp Alliance, an eight-state group of shrimp fishermen and processors, filed against exporters in six Asian and South American countries, including Vietnam, at the end of 2003. The other five nations are Thailand, China, India, Ecuador and Brazil.
