Danish fishmeal and oil processing corporation TripleNine and Norwegian company Koppernaes have merged, forming the largest Nordic fishmeal and fish oil business.
The merger was recommended by the boards of both companies based on the fact that they have a convergence of views on the strategic challenges and opportunities for development.
The new company, TripleNine Group A/S, will have factories in Norway, Denmark and Chile and will end up owning 50 percent of shares in the Norwegian trading company Norsildmel AS. The company’s head office will be in Esbjerg.
The companies will each own 50 percent of the new company, which is expected to make profits of DKK 3 billion.
The merger is expected to be completed in the spring of 2013.
