GBP 1.1m confiscated in black fish scam

Four fishermen who admitted their part in a major black fish scam in Peterhead have been hit with confiscation orders totaling more than GBP 1.1 million.

Ian Buchan, 55, master of the Quantas trawler, faced the largest order, being told to pay GBP 1 million.

There were also orders of GBP 99,000 for 55-year-old James Duthie; GBP 64,612 for 49-year-old Stephen Bellany; and GBP 23,669 for Oswald McRonald, 64.
