Harbor Seafood announced on Monday that it purchased certain assets of Ocean Venture to expand its sales and distribution reach in North America.
Ocean Venture specializes in sourcing Canadian seafood products, including lobster, snow crab, scallops and shrimp. The Groveland, Mass., wholesaler and distributor will now operate as a division of New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Harbor Seafood.
Ocean Venture's veteran staff will continue to operate from its Groveland office.
"This purchase will allow us to continue offering unparalleled service and a broadened product base," says Christian Limberg, managing partner of Harbor Seafood. "Adding the experienced team, lead by Normand Desrochers, allows us to grow in some markets we've left untouched to date."

Founded by Peter Cardone in 1975, Harbor Seafood markets an array of seafood products, including king crab, snow crab and shrimp. The company's brands include Oyster Bay, Wakefield, HSF Seafood Singles, 3 Promises and Seawest.
