High Liner Merges U.S. Businesses

High Liner Foods of Nova Scotia today announced it has consolidated its two U.S. businesses, High Liner Foods and Fishery Products International of Danvers, Mass.

"Continuing to move forward with our integration plans, we have made the strategic decision to consolidate our two U.S. businesses," said Henry Demone, High Liner president and CEO, in a prepared statement. "The addition of the FPI businesses has transformed our organization, having increased our scale and provided us a strong market entry into the U.S. foodservice market, which is now the most sizable segment in which we operate."

As a result of High Liner's expanded U.S. presence due to the acquisition of FPI's manufacturing and marketing group last year, the company also appointed Keith Decker president and COO of U.S. operations.

Decker replaces Mark Lamothe and assumes responsibility for all U.S. operations and sales organizations, both retail and foodservice.
