Huisman appointed CEO of Anova Seafood

Dutch fresh and frozen seafood producer Anova has announced it is naming its co-founder and director, Willem Huisman, as its new CEO.

Huisman is replacing Constant Mulder, the current CEO and co-founder, who will be taking the position of non-executive director. He will remain a shareholder, according to a statement from Anova. The move, according to both co-founders, is a part of a restructuring of the company.

“In the past 20 years, Anova has developed itself into an established player in the fish industry that has always remained loyal to its core values on sustainability, quality and innovation,” Mulder said. “This is something I am very proud of. These values are clearly being recognized by our customers as a solid basis on which long term relationships can be built. This requires a new organizational structure.”

Prior to the move, Huisman handled Anova’s frozen and sourcing activities. He will take over as CEO on 1 January 2015.

“When Constant and I founded the company Anova Seafood as wholesale organization, the product was the main focus,” Huisman said. “Our passion for the product will always remain the basis for Anova, but this is now being strengthened by a strong customer oriented focus and organizational structure.”
